Howard C. Mahler is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society

and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

I have published study guides since 1996.


I spent over 20 years in the insurance industry, the last 15 as Vice President and Actuary at the Workers' Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau of Massachusetts.

I have published dozens of major research papers.

I was the recipient of the 1987 CAS Dorweiler prize.

I served 12 years on the CAS Examination Committee including three years as head of the whole committee (1990-1993). on the syllabus of CAS Exam 8.

I have had other material on the exam syllabus in the past.

I taught actuarial exam seminars and/or classes from 1994 to 2017;

these covered many different actuarial exams.

In the past I have taught actuarial exam seminars and/or classes for:

New England Actuarial Seminars, CAMAR Seminars at Temple University, Actuaries Club of Boston, Midwestern Actuarial Forum,

the Actuarial Seminars at Georgia State University,

and in-house classes at a large insurance company in Boston.
